Workshop for Patients of Parkinson’s Disease

We invite you to join us for a 3-session online workshop designed to help bring balance and calm to the body and mind. Over three sessions, you’ll learn:

  • A powerful 4-minute breathing technique to enhance energy and focus

  • Sound yoga to improve stability and mental clarity

  • A 12-minute guided meditation to promote relaxation and inner balance

This workshop is open to individuals with Parkinson’s disease, as well as their family members and caregivers.

In the first session, you’ll learn and experience all the practices, beginning with a short introduction to the research supporting them.

The next two sessions will focus on guided repetition, allowing you to deepen your practice and clarify any questions about the techniques.

Workshop Schedule:

Session 1: Tuesday, November 18  I  6.00 – 7.00 PM
Session 2: Thursday, November 20   6.00 – 7.00 PM
Session 3: Monday, November 24  I  6.00 – 7.00 PM

Once you register, you’ll be added to our WhatsApp Support Group, where we will share session links and updates.

Session Guidelines:

  • We recommend being on a light stomach condition for each session.

  • The most conducive clothing for each session is loose, comfortable cotton clothes or any natural fabric.

  • We will begin on time, so please login at least 5 minutes early to settle in.

Description

In this session, you will learn:

  • Nadi Shuddhi: A breathing technique that works to cleanse the pathways in the human system through which energy flows. This practice has been shown to:

  • Nada Yoga: Sound therapy to calm the nervous system and activate the vagus nerve. This practice can:

    • Reduce fear, stress and anxiety

    • Improve mental and emotional health

    • Enhance focus and concentration

    • Improve sleep quality

  • Isha Kriya: A guided meditation that positively impacts mental health. Research shows that daily practice of Isha Kriya can:

    • Improve mood states

    • Reduce stress, even within a single practice

    • Reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression in just 2 weeks of practice
