We are happy to announce a Children’s Surya Shakti Yoga workshop during March Break 2024, for children aged 7 to 13. 

This is an ideal Yoga program to get your kids established in a daily discipline that will help them stabilize their body, mind, emotions and energy systems.  It will also help build up their physical strength and fitness, calm their minds, and create balance within.

Workshop Details: (Total = 4.5 hours)

Sessions 1 & 2: Tuesday, August 13 = 10 – 11.45 AM & 4.00 – 5.45 PM
Sessions 3 & 4: Wednesday, August 14 = 10 – 11.45 AM & 4.00 – 5.45 PM
Location: 630  Oxford Rd. Burlington, ON

*** All sessions are mandatory for children to learn the entire sequence and equip them to practice safely on their own. ***

The practice will be taught step-by-step with detailed instructions so that children can learn the entire sequence and practice on their own at home. It is a practice which can fit easily into a daily routine and can be practiced based on a certain number of cycles, so it’s flexible in terms of a daily/weekly practice for children.

Please Note: The price above is for group workshops (minimum of 4 children). Pricing for private sessions for less than 4 participants is $250 per child.

Description

Surya Shakti is an active form of the Sun Salutations. It is related to Surya Kriya, however it is more physical in nature.

“Surya” means “Sun,” and “Shakti” means “energy”. Surya Shakti includes a powerful sequence of 18 postures, which are designed as a holistic process to cultivate great physical fitness and strength.

Our Surya Shakti Children’s Program is suitable for kids aged 7-13, who are in good health. This program is not suitable for: 

  • Anyone who has had a major open surgery within the last 6 months

  • Anyone who has had a laparoscopic surgery or any severe muscular injury within the last 6 weeks
