What is Surya Kriya?
You are probably familiar with the commonly known Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutation). Surya Namaskar finds it roots in the antiquious practice, Surya Kriya, which was practised by yogis, in India, thousands of years ago. Surya Kriya is the original form of the practice. It is a much more refined process, which requires enormous attention in terms of the geometry of the body. How it is taught is also of paramount importance.
Traditionally available only to select groups of yogis, Surya Kriya is being offered by Sadhguru as a comprehensive spiritual practice that is ideal for the hectic pace of today’s world.
This programme will be taught at our yogasala in E17, which is also a consecrated space. The stillness in the space makes it very conducive to learning Classical Hatha Yoga. Due to the sacred nature and the precision with which it must be taught, we have no more than 6 people in a group at a time. This ensures that the right atmosphere is created and maximum attention and focus is given to each and every participant.
Participants will gain an in-depth knowledge and feel empowered to practice safely on their own.
Surya Kriya enables you to move towards a space within yourself and around yourself where circumstances are not in any way intrusive or obstructing the process of life.
It is is a potent yogic practice of tremendous antiquity – designed as a holistic process for health, wellness and complete inner wellbeing. “Surya” means sun, and “Kriya” means inner energy process. Surya Kriya activates the solar plexus within the system and balances a person’s energies, leading to stability of the body and stillness of the mind. This solid foundation becomes the basis to explore higher dimensions of life.
